Secondary Teaching Assistant - Weymouth Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm Pay: £89 - £95 per day Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Secondary school team in Weymouth. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a pupil who requires additional support, helping them to succeed both academically and socially in a nurturing environment. About the Role As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will: • Provide tailored one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs, adapting learning activities to meet their individual requirements • Support the class teacher with delivering lessons across literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum • Encourage the pupil's independence, resilience, and confidence in both academic and social settings • Assist with classroom activities, small group learning, and individual interventions • Provide care and supervision during lessons, playtimes, lunchtimes, and transitions around the school • Work in partnership with the SENCo, teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the child About You We are looking for someone who: • Has a caring, patient, and supportive approach • Can build positive relationships with children and help them feel valued and included • Is flexible, proactive, and able to follow teacher guidance while also using their own initiative • Brings energy, enthusiasm, and resilience to the role • Has experience working with children (experience of SEN is desirable but not essential - training will be provided) What We Offer • A warm, inclusive, and welcoming school environment • Support from a committed and experienced team • Opportunities for professional development and training • The chance to play a vital role in supporting a child's learning journey and making a real difference every day If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to be part of a team that places children at the heart of everything, we would love to hear from you.
