Job Description:Robert Half is proud to be exclusively partnered with a market-leading engineering and technology business based just outside Peterborough in their search for an experienced Project Accountant on a 6-month fixed-term contract.This is a hands-on, fully office-based role based just outside of Peterborough - so access to your own vehicle is essential. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Business Unit General Manager with critical financial insight, while also managing a small finance and admin team.The Role:As the Project Accountant, you will be responsible for driving financial performance through robust reporting, commercial analysis, and close collaboration with operational leaders. You'll also take ownership of monthly reporting cycles, internal controls, and financial planning, whilst supporting wider business decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Own and deliver month-end reporting, KPIs, and management accountsAnalyse financial data and advise the Business Unit General Manager on commercial decisionsSupport cash flow forecasting, budget setting, and cost controlOversee VAT, CIS and corporation tax compliance (with support from advisors)Conduct project reviews with Project Managers, ensuring strong financial governanceLine manage the Assistant Finance Business Partner and wider admin teamEnsure compliance with internal controls and Group accounting policiesWhat We're Looking For:Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)Experience in project accounting and cash flow managementComfortable working in a fast-paced, manufacturing/engineering-type environmentSkilled communicator who can present financial insight to non-financial stakeholdersConfident user of Excel; SAP experience advantageousPrevious team management experienceRobert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
