💰 Rate: £28.60 per hour (37 hours)
📍 Location: Peterborough + Hybrid workingWe’re urgently seeking a Project Accountant to provide management accounting support within a major project. This is a full-time, temporary role (37 hours per week) based in Peterborough with hybrid working (typically 2–3 days in the office, flexibility depending on project needs).Key Duties:
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Lead annual budgets and periodic forecasting (CAPEX & OPEX).
  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting, including accruals, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Produce clear performance reporting and provide financial insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to budget holders, providing challenge and decision support.
  • Build strong working relationships with Finance, Commercial, Programme Controls and external auditors.
  • Support audit activities, prepare documentation, and address compliance issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, digital tools, and streamlined reporting.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues where appropriate, supporting the development of the wider finance function.
  • Contribute to a culture of integrity, safety, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong project/management accounting experience.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
  • Strong Excel and SAP knowledge.
