This role is ideal for someone who can positively impact young pupils facing emotional or behavioural challenges helping them thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.Role Overview:As a Secondary SEMH TA, you will support primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs through consistent, tailored support that promotes emotional well-being and classroom engagement.Responsibilities as a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop coping and communication strategies.
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and outside agencies to implement individual support plans.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.
- Assist pupils in building self-esteem, confidence, and resilience.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural, or additional needs.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the last 10 years.
