To oversee the Sports and Community events team, developing and diversifying each department, maintaining a high standard of relationship fundraising, managing and setting team's yearly budgets with the Head of Public Fundraising.Key responsibilities:Sports & Community Fundraising
- Lead the Sports & Community fundraising strategy, overseeing delivery of the sports events portfolio and maximising ROI.
- Manage and grow relationships with high-value fundraisers, stakeholders, and supporters, ensuring a consistently high standard of relationship fundraising.
- Use audience insights, data analysis, and market trends to identify opportunities, implement improvements, and enhance supporter experience.
- Collaborate with other fundraising teams to deliver integrated campaigns and improve overall fundraising performance.
- Maintain accurate records and interrogate Salesforce to identify efficiencies, trends, and opportunities for growth.
- Support delivery of flagship activities such as the London Marathon fundraising programme.
- Direct and line manage the Sports & Community fundraising team, providing regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development plans.
- Recruit, induct, and train new team members while fostering a positive, collaborative, and innovative working culture.
- Encourage creativity, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement across the team.
- Work closely with the Head of Public Fundraising to shape and deliver departmental strategy.
- Accountable for departmental income exceeding £5m annually.
- Set, monitor, and manage expenditure budgets in line with income targets.
- Analyse monthly financial performance, provide commentary, and implement corrective action where needed.
- Track KPIs and objectives, reporting regularly and ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
- Deliver engaging presentations to a range of audiences as required.
- Represent the charity at events across the UK, including evenings and weekends, with time off in lieu provided.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.

- Proven track record of increasing fundraising income and managing successful fundraising teams.
- Extensive experience setting and managing large, multi-million-pound budgets.
- Skilled in delivering mass participation and sports events.
- Strong public speaking, networking, and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Salesforce and the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook).
