- Support with the financial operations and reporting requirements for specified portfolios (these are likely to require technical accounting input, and/or be more high profile or more complex instructions). Review of trial balance reporting, management accounts, nominal ledger reconciliations and journals, VAT reporting, funding reviews, payments to client and ensuring client deadlines and expectations are met.
- Learn and be able to undertake all duties performed within the Property Accountant and Assistant Property Accountant roles and provide technical accounting support to these individuals.
- Assume management of insurance renewals across portfolio and undertake reconciliations where required
- Identify and suggest improvements to standardise, streamline and simplify working procedures.
- Administer financial operations relating to the mobilisation and demobilisation of property transactions.
- Co-ordinate the resolution of day-to-day queries from clients & occupiers.
- Perform variable head lease calculations, NOI reporting, bad debt provisioning, and any other accounting and administrative duties as needed in support of the property portfolio.
- Assist the Property Accounts Manager with the training, retention, and motivation of the team to develop commitment and drive high performance, particularly in the continuing development of the Assistant Property Accountants.
- Support the Property Accounts Manager with workload management, and oversight of wider portfolio.
- Support senior management in creating an industry leading Property Accounting team, which is considered a ‘Centre of Excellence’ both internally and externally.
- Monitoring of key performance indicators on client portfolio and taking ownership for timely resolution of any issue alongside relevant stakeholders.
- Timely and accurate completion of various control account reconciliations & monitoring of funding levels.
- Effectively manage risk by complying with company, accounting, and legislative procedures and controls. Identify problem areas and escalate issues promptly.
- Performance of other controls as governed by our accredited control framework.
- Support with all internal and external auditing requirements.
- Be a point of contact for specific clients for the day to day running of the property portfolio.
- Liaise with and support Surveyors, JBS (JLL Business Services) finance teams and other stakeholders on the portfolio, acting on requests and providing information in a timely manner.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required.
- Ensure strong communication links and working relationships are established and maintained with Property Accounting management, as well as Accounts Receivable, Treasury & Control, Surveying, and other internal stakeholders.
- Strong Excel skills (including working knowledge of pivot tables, V-Lookups, X-Lookups and other similar formulae).
- Working knowledge of MS Office (including Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be flexible and able to work under pressure, multi-task and effectively prioritise.
- Organised, with attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage and develop strong client relationships and provide excellent client service.
- Able to use own initiative to resolve day to day issues.
- Knowledge of property accounts and VAT accounting.
- AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent) with 3 years of accounting experience, or QBE (4 years in an accounting function).
- 1 year property accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Client Systems (Yardi/MRI/Horizon) would be advantageous.
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified.
