We are looking for a vibrant, confident person to join the team to help deliver a high quality service in the MDT Team at Ipswich Hospital.Do you have excellent administration skills, an eye for detail, the tenacity to 'go that extra mile' in a very busy environment and care about patients that may be facing a diagnosis of cancer.If you think that you have the level of commitment and the skill set that this role requires then we would love to hear from you.This is fixed term/secondment post until 31st December 2025.Please note that this post may close early if a high number of applications are received.Main duties of the jobThe role of a pathway tracker is an ideal first step towards becoming a fully trained Band 4 MDT Coordinator and internal developmental opportunities await the right applicant.It's the responsibility of each MDTC to track the pathway of patients who have been referred to hospital urgently, to rule out the possibility that they may have cancer.It is essential that all patients referred in on a 2 week wait (suspicion of cancer) pathway have every stage of the treatment tracked on a daily basis to make sure that they received a diagnosis within 28 days and where found to have cancer, their treatment, within 31 days of receiving that diagnosis.The role of the Pathway Tracker is to make sure that they review progress by tracking the patient using either Somerset Cancer Registry or Infoflex , through the various hospital diagnostic systems, updating all the clinical teams when the information is available and ensuring that it is all available for the weekly MDT meetings, escalating any delays to the operational teams.About usWe are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex.
