Contract: Long-term to permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4pm
Start Date: September 2025Are you a patient, proactive, and compassionate teaching assistant with experience supporting pupils with special educational needs?We're working with a nurturing, community-focused primary school in the DE4 area to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a focus on delivering 1:1 and small group interventions. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for someone who thrives on making a real difference to children who need additional support with their learning and emotional development.The Role:
  • Deliver targeted interventions for pupils with additional needs
  • Support children with a range of SEN, including speech & language difficulties, autism, and learning delay
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to develop confidence, engagement and academic progress
  • Use visual timetables, structured routines and personalised strategies
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support plans
  • Create a calm, inclusive environment where all learners feel safe and supported
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, communication needs, developmental delay)
  • Confident delivering interventions in literacy and numeracy
  • Calm, consistent and flexible approach
  • Comfortable supporting emotional needs and behaviour where required
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with children and staff
