On occasion, you may be asked to carry out other duties within your competencies, depending on operational needs such as workload and staffing.Main Duties:Managing prescription requestsGenerating repeat prescriptionsCommunicating with patients regarding prescription enquiriesUndertaking advance ordering and monthly endorsement of prescriptionsCassetting medicationsTraining and Development:Where necessary, full training will be provided through a recognised external provider. This training will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to become an integral part of the dispensary team.In addition, there may be opportunities to enrol on a Medical Terminology training course to further support your development in the role.About usThe Mortimer Medical Practice is a three-site practice serving just over 8,900 patients. Our main surgery is in the village of Kingsland, with two satellite surgeries in Leintwardine and Orleton.We are currently expanding our team to provide additional support to our Prescription Clerk and reception counter.Our clinical team includes three GP partners and four salaried GPs. As a dispensing practice, we operate a dispensary at each site. Our dispensing team comprises two NVQ Level 3 qualified dispensers and five NVQ Level 2 dispensing assistants. We are a recognised training practice and actively encourage NVQ qualifications.Supporting the clinical teams is a dedicated team of administrative and reception staff overseen by our Practice Manager.We are also a proactive training site, welcoming GP registrars, student nurses, dispensing apprentices, as well as business and administration apprentices.Taurus Healthcare Ltd is advertising this position on behalf of Mortimer Medical Practice.
