What will I be doing?We're working to improve the lives of people in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that. As an Enforcement Services Officer you will represent the Council liaising with the Parking Enforcement Contractor.Your day-to-day work will involve:
  • Assess applications for parking permits, dispensations, and vouchers, ensuring eligibility and applying anti-fraud measures.
  • Managing PCN (Penalty Charge Notice) processes, responding to appeals and enquiries.
  • Process payments, receipts, daily reconciliations, and manage incoming post and phone enquiries efficiently.
  • Provide advice and information on parking legislation, policies, and related regulations to customers via phone and correspondence

But it will really help if you have:
  • A minimum of 3 GCSE's including English, or able to demonstrate equivalent standard.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment via the telephone and in writing.
  • The ability to work independently and make decisions based on published guidelines.
  • Strong writing proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills,
  • The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to meet department deadlines.
