This is a contract role initially for 6 months with good possibility of extension.Please note that this role is fully onsite in Milton Keynes 5 days week. Due to nature of the role DV + NPPV3 clearance is required.Essential Experience Required:
- Experience in database technologies and a good understanding of SQL/Oracle development and scripting tools; Oracle DB Architecture, Performance, Database Intallation & Configuration
- Experience in database administration, including back-ups, maintenance, performance monitoring and troubleshooting, security management, patch management
- Experience in implementing high availability setups such as Always on HA, Mirroring, log shipping and Microsoft Clustering.
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server Stack - SSMS, SSAS, SSIS & SSRS.
- Experience working on Linux
- Able to work to tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server internals and core database functionality (indexes, schemas, triggers, etc.)
- Good understanding of database architecture and database design.
- Installation, Configuration, Maintenance, Performance of DB systems - SQL and Oracle
- Monitor & maintaining and tuning databases to optimise availability of server as well as troubleshooting performance.
- Creating suitable Database alerts as well as proactively monitor and responding to alerts
- Troubleshot performance and connection issues.
- Build environments based on standards and best practices that would align to operational and business requirements.
- Monitor database maintenance scripts for backups, index rebuild/defragment, and database statistics.
- Producing, maintaining, and ensuring backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.

- Availability for out of hours support as part of a support rotation.
