Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.As a Multi-Line Assembler you will operate as part of the production team responsible for the assembly of parts or components to produce Building Construction Product (BCP) machines, according to specified work orders. Working on several stations covering planned/unplanned absences. You will utilise lean manufacturing tools and techniques while operating to defined "tact times" and production sequences.Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect free assembly of parts and components, using various hand/power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work areaWork on several stations to support planned and unplanned absencesTrain/coach Assembly Technician’s/Apprentices to standard work instructionsOperate BCP built machines where requiredFollow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard workParticipate in product / process improvement dialogues as requiredCover the Team Leader's role in their absenceKeep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM)Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practicesAdhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, SustainabilityUndertake training and further learning as requiredCandidates must have the following skills and experience through previous roles:Demonstrable high level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracyInitiative and strong communication, interpersonal & organisation skillsThe ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipmentThe ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/proceduresAttention to detail, able to work with own initiative and self-motivatedYou will possess effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organizationWilling to undertake required training/learningMust be willing to work a multi-shift patternCandidates may have the following skills and experience through previous roles:Thorough working knowledge of the assembly duties and build experienceExperience shows ability to drive RCCAHave a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities (willing to work overtime)Pending the number of applications, the criteria for the position may be enhanced to facilitate shortlisting.Job Title: Multi-Line AssemblerSalary: £27,855 rising when role triggers are met to £29,279Contract: PermanentBenefits: 27 days annual leave + bank holidays, Production Bonus, Share Scheme (50% Company Matched), Contributory Pension Scheme (Contribution double by Company up to 10%), Free Car Parking, Caterpillar Advantage websiteLocation: Desford, LeicestershireHours: Full Time – 37.50Travel: Not requiredNB.
