- To open up and close the surgery as appropriate.
- To provide, as the first point of contact with the surgery, a welcoming and caring atmosphere and environment for patients and visitors
- To operate an efficient, effective and appropriate appointment system to facilitate patient access.
- To handle telephone and personal calls, messages and enquiries giving advice and guidance as appropriate and in accordance with practice guidelines.
- To operate the administration systems in accordance with practice procedures.
- Promote patient use of the self check-in, on-line services (via practice website) and the patient reference group
- Promote practice clinical services
- To ensure good communications and the efficient flow of information between the practice teams.
- To follow administrative procedures for patient registration and removal, quality and outcomes service, targets and private health work.
- Using the computer to record patient data, (e.g. personal, immunisations, test results, health promotion, and drugs).

- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths (or equivalent experience)
