Specialist Community DietitianBand 6 - £37,338 - £44,96237.5 hours per week (flexible working & part time considered, min 22.5hrs)PermanentSouth KirkleesHere at Locala we are part of the community and have often cared for generations within the same family and continue to be part of the NHS family also delivering care under the same ethos.Main duties of the jobWe have an excellent opportunity for a Band 6 Dietitian to join our Community Dietetics Team covering Greater Huddersfield.We are looking for someone who can work as a specialist, autonomous dietitian with experience in managing malnutrition in the community. You should have strong organisational, communication and leadership skills and embrace the challenge of service development.You will be responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional care for patients referred to our service, offering assessments, in clinics, homes and virtual appointments, working alongside peers, senior colleagues, a dedicated Band 4 assistant and with other AHP's including speech and language therapists.The role supports patients at risk of malnutrition, adopting a food first based approach with the appropriate use of oral nutritional supplements.You will be responsible for:Your own caseload of patients who require oral nutrition support in the community offering holistic person-centred careJoint working with Speech and Language therapist and other AHP's, Social care and Nursing colleaguesOffering a hybrid approach including telephone/video clinics and home visits as neededSupporting student placements (A, B and C placements)Planning and delivering training (internal and external)Triage of new diet referrals as neededSupervision of colleaguesAs our service is developing, we are looking for someone who will contribute to delivering an effective, safe and efficient service.About usLocala Health and Wellbeing embraces diversity and inclusion and encourages applicants from people from all backgrounds with our ambition to have a workforce that represents the wider communities we live and work within, which you can support us to achieve.We are an organisation that celebrates and values the individuality of our colleagues lived experiences and can adapt accordingly, recognising the value inclusivity brings when delivering equitable, high quality healthcare to our local communities.
