Will you join us?We are looking for an Underwriting Analyst to join Klarna’s credit decisioning function. In this key role, you will help ensure that credit decisions at Klarna are responsible, fair, and efficient by combining data-driven models, bureau insights, and underwriting expertise. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across regions to streamline risk policies, migrate underwriting logic into a global platform, and optimize credit strategies that directly impact consumer trust, portfolio health, and overall profitability.What You Will Do
  • Analyze consumer credit risk using large datasets, SQL, python, Cursor and credit bureau information to inform and improve underwriting policies.
  • Collaborate with product, risk, and regional teams to migrate credit card and POS underwriting logic into Klarna’s Global Underwriting Platform (GUP).
  • Support the rollout of consistent POS credit policies for card acquisition and Purchase power across multiple markets.
  • Align purchase power and pre-qualification logic across Klarna’s App and One Card offerings.
  • Optimize credit bureau strategy to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness of bureau pulls.
  • Translate complex data and analysis into actionable policy and product improvements that balance growth with sustainable risk management.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in consumer credit risk, underwriting, or related credit policy roles.
  • Proficient in SQL and comfortable working with large datasets to drive analysis and decision-making.
  • Familiar with credit bureau data, repayment behavior, and credit risk modeling techniques.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with a strong problem-solving mindset.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to translate data insights into clear policy recommendations.
  • Self-driven and excited to contribute to building the future of global credit underwriting at Klarna.
