- Focus on school aged years (5-19) of the Healthy Child Programme
- Line management responsibility of the Children and Young Peoples (5-19) Advanced Public Health Practitioner and matrix management of team colleagues
- National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP)
- INTENT smoking and vaping prevention programme (11-15)
- Work with the Children and Young People's Public Health team to contribute to service improvements, inform policies and embed new ways of working to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate a range of health improvement programmes related to children and young people's health
- 1-2 days in the office
- Comes into the office for meetings or focused work. Virtual connections with the team are essential, with portable technology supporting work on the go.
- Experience of service procurement and contract performance management, and the development and improvement of services
- Highly developed and current knowledge of public health strategy, policy and guidance
- Practical experience of managing programmes and delivering services, as well as monitoring and evaluation
- High level interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to addressing inequalities in health and wellbeing
- Ability to capture, analyse, interpret and present complex information, evidence and data, for the purposes of service improvement
- Educated to degree level in public health or a public health relevant subject
- Knowledge and understanding of budgets including budget holding responsibility
- Knowledge and experience of needs assessment
