As an SEN TA, this position is perfect for individuals looking to make a positive impact by providing tailored academic and emotional support to pupils with diverse needs.Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
- Assist class teachers in creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
- Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt resources where needed.
- Encourage the development of social and emotional skills alongside academic progress.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or school setting.
- Awareness of conditions such as autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
- Strong communication, patience, and a nurturing approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
