Resourcery Group are working with a rapidly expanding property and construction business in Liverpool. We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller on an interim basis for 3-6 months to be office based 4 days with 1 WFH per week or 5 days office based. Working closely with a strong management team, you will be their key support during this phase of growth. There is potential for the right candidate to become a permanent member of the finance team.Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of financial control, including financial reporting, month-end close, balance sheet management, and internal controls.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts across multiple entities within the group.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including preparation of annual accounts and liaison with external auditors.
  • Maintain and improve financial processes and systems to support business growth and complexity.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, working closely with development, construction, and treasury teams to ensure robust liquidity planning.
  • Oversee intercompany transactions, group consolidations, and tax compliance (VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax).
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the FP&A function.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support commercial decision-making and project delivery.
  • Build and lead a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications/Skills
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a fast-paced, multi-entity environment, ideally in property, construction, or a related sector.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting, month-end close, and compliance within a single-entity or divisional structure.
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage day-to-day operations while contributing to strategic projects.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to navigate computers systems and accounting software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and collaborate across departments.
