Senior Care Officer Job descriptionThe job itselfThe full salary range for this role is £32,597 to £35,412 plus enhancements (detailed below); if you are new to the Council you will start on £32,597 and move to £33,143 after successfully completing your 6 month probationary period. If so, our Senior Care Officer role might be the perfect fit for you!About the Role: We are seeking dedicated Senior Care Officers to join our team at a new Children's Home in Anlaby. The home will provide trauma informed care to two young people with complex needs, ensuring they maintain their identity and connections within their community. You will be part of a committed team including a registered manager, 4 Senior Care Officers, and 5 Care Officers. Together, you will create a safe, nurturing environment that supports the young peoples interests, education, and overall well-being.Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading and planning shifts.
  • Managing risks effectively.
  • Supervising and training staff.
  • Collaborating with multiple agencies.
  • Making day-to-day decisions aligned with the young person's care plan.
Our children and young people have often experienced trauma and need caregivers who are caring, approachable, respectful, determined, interested, giving, adaptable, and non-judgemental. Your ability to build meaningful relationships and provide understanding care will be crucial in helping them feel safe and valued.Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people.
  • QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Desire to provide focused support to young people.
  • Supervisory experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Must be able to work shift patterns including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties.
