- Manage activities of the QA Lab including supervision, development and training of Lab Technicians
- Maintain and control Measurement, Inspection and Test Equipment
- Daily auditing and review of production process (e.g. pallet tear down / LPA’s etc.)
- Support continuous improvement activities
- Responsible for actively participating in daily production meetings
- Implement appropriate structure to manage departmental budgets effectively and within assigned budget
- Support new product launches and participate in APQP activity
- Support and attend weekly scorecard meetings
- Dimensional and material approval on new dies
- Travel to customers and suppliers when required
- Third level qualification in an engineering/ technical discipline
- Candidates with a lesser qualification, plus significant relevant experience will also be considered
- Min. 5 years’ experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of quality management systems, including TS16949 and ISO 9000
- Working knowledge of PFMEA, control plans and measurement system analysis
- Experience of statistical process control
- Proven track record in the application of problem solving techniques, e.g. 5 Why, 8D, Six Sigma
- IT literate, and proficient in the use of MS Excel
- Experience of interpretation of engineering drawings
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Communication skills, both oral and written
- Presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
- Ability to see activities through to completion
- Experience in machining or the automotive supply industry
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Experience of PC DMIS and SPC Lighthouse with ability to write and adjust programs
- Proficient in the use of MS Access
