Our client is a dynamic, medium-sized main contractor with a growing presence across the UK construction landscape. Since their establishment in 2016, they have built a reputation for delivering high-quality, complex projects-on time and within budget. Operating across the industrial, commercial, logistics, retail, and leisure sectors, their approach combines agility, innovation, and hands-on project management.With a turnover exceeding £100 million and projects valued up to £30 million, our client has a strong track record in both new build and fit-out schemes. Their proactive leadership team and tight-knit workforce (currently around 80 employees) foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and sustainable construction practices.Due to continued growth, they are now looking to expand their Pre-Construction team with the appointment of an experienced Estimator.ABOUT THE ROLEAs an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction process-working closely with the commercial and operations teams to deliver accurate, competitive, and compelling tenders. Your ability to analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements will directly influence the business’s continued success in securing work.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, including new builds, refurbishments, and fit-outsAnalyse subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and valueWork collaboratively with the Pre-Construction Manager and Directors to develop winning bid strategiesAttend site visits and client meetings as requiredContribute to risk assessments and value engineering processesMaintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultantsAssist in the handover to the delivery team post-contract awardThe ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the UK construction industry
Solid understanding of design and build projects, particularly within industrial, logistics, commercial, or retail sectorsAbility to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentationProficient with estimating software (such as Conquest, Causeway, or similar)Strong commercial awareness and attention to detailExcellent communication and time management skillsREQUIREMENTSYou will need to have a degree in either Quantity Surveying or Construction Management2-5 years of experience as an Estimator within ConstructionUK Driving LicenseREWARDS AND BENEFITSCompetitive salary of up to £80,000 and benefits packageFlexible/hybrid working arrangements (Kent or Coventry offices)The opportunity to work on high-profile and technically challenging projectsCareer progression within a growing and forward-thinking businessA positive, supportive team culture driven by innovation and quality
