Our client is currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join a reputable main contractor based in Maidstone. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of a growing commercial team, working across a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.As the Estimator, you will play a vital role in the pre-construction phase-preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing tender documents, and contributing to winning bids for projects.ABOUT THE ROLEKey ResponsibilitiesAnalyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and design teams to develop proposals.Prepare and submit tender bids, ensuring deadlines are met.Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes and negotiate where necessary.Contribute to value engineering exercises and provide cost-saving solutions.Maintain a database of cost information and industry trends.REQUIREMENTSProven experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment.Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent numerical and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.A team player with strong communication and negotiation skills.REWARDS AND BENEFITSCompetitive salary of £65,000 - £75,000 (DOE)Opportunities for training and career progressionSupportive and collaborative working environmentLocal projects with minimal travel
