As an SEN TA, you will provide vital support to children with Special Educational Needs, helping them to engage in lessons, develop key skills, and build confidence.Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
- Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
- Implement personalised learning plans and adapt materials where needed.
- Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills, alongside academic progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure every child receives the right support.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN setting.
- Understanding of various special educational needs, such as autism, ADHD, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
