Procurement Heads have partnered with a nationally recognised Property Management organisation who are a leading provider of infrastructure support services to the UK Defence sector, to recruit a Quantity Surveyor.Our client, a leading provider of infrastructure support services to the UK Defence sector, is seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join their regional team in the South West. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to nationally significant projects across the MOD Training Estate, supporting both Core and Billable Works.Based at the scenic Westdown Camp in Wiltshire, the successful candidate will work closely with Commercial and Project teams to scope, tender, and manage projects that directly impact the UK’s defence capabilities.As Quantity Surveyor your key responsibilities will be:
  • Managing the commercial and financial aspects of regional projects from inception to completion.
  • Supporting procurement strategies and contract management, with a focus on NEC3 contracts.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards.
  • Acting as supply chain manager for assigned suppliers, ensuring performance and compliance.
  • Supporting internal audits and uphold commercial and financial governance.
  • Providing expert commercial advice and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading on pricing, cost value reconciliations (CVRs), and documentation using robust IT systems.
Skills and experience required:
  • HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or facilities management environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, cost management, procurement, and risk management.
  • Practical understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
  • Proficiency in IT systems including MS Excel and MS Project.
  • Willingness to travel to UK sites with occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across geographically dispersed sites
