Contract Type: Full-time, PermanentAbout the Role:We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic Design & Technology department. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their practical skills, creativity, and understanding of nutrition and food science.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 if applicable)
- Prepare and maintain practical lessons, including safe use of equipment and ingredients
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback
- Contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Participate in departmental meetings and whole-school events
- Support extracurricular opportunities such as cooking clubs or healthy eating initiatives
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject
- Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- A genuine enthusiasm for food education and student development
- Up-to-date knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene regulations
