Positive Behaviour Support Worker
Location: BlueJay Cornford Lane, Pembury, Kent

About the Role:At Aspens, a highly regarded charity, we work across Kent and Sussex; supporting individuals with autistic spectrum conditions, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. We offer residential care, supporting living, day activities and a fantastic community outreach programme.We are currently seeking a dedicated PBS Support Worker to join our fantastic staff team.Due to the nature of the people we support, there are times when behaviours of concern do arise and so it is vital that you are able to stay calm in a challenging situation whilst remaining positive and professional.
Aspens offer career progression alongside vocational qualifications, we encourage staff development and aim to promote from within the organisation where we can.What you can expect from us:We will support you with regular access to, and supervision with, a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist as well as with your line manager, and the opportunity to complete a L3 accredited PBS qualification.A PBS Support Worker should be:Able to work with the PBS team to create and follow behavioural management strategiesAble to source and establish an activity planner.Experienced in de-escalating difficult situations in a calm, positive and proactive wayPhysically fitNot be afraid to try new thingsResilientAble to actively support, promoting independenceAs a member of our team, you should have:Experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or AutismExperience of working with people who may display behaviours of concern.
