- Help develop a model that can be used to forecast engine maintenance requirements. Model to be transferable to all engine types
- Managing suppliers to deliver on their commercial obligations and maximise the commercial advantage to BA
- Drives optimal technical decisions in the wider team and leads technical discussions across departments and suppliers using expertise and considers the effects on the wider business.
- Influential in delivering the finance plan.
- Responsible for incorporating technical standards, policy and strategic direction to Powerplant’s daily business.
- Acts as a coordinator across British Airways including both internal and external suppliers, customers and stakeholders regarding engine, APU and nacelle deliveries
- Responsible for delivery of a portfolio of projects and programmes of commercial value to the business.
- Coaches and mentors team members in contributing to the delivery of the business plan. Coach and mentor employees as required
- Supporting the Manager in developing a high-performance team culture and behaviours in line with the company values.
- Aware of fleet reliability, monitoring fleet technical performance and developing improvement plans to ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Leading or technically supporting formal investigations in line with the corporate safety management manual.
- Prioritising workload and acting as appropriate to maintain compliance with all appropriate company procedures, policies, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Reports, presents and communicates operational and business performance and significant events to senior stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Proven ability to leverage technical knowledge and combine with commercial skills
- Ability to demonstrate commercial success achieved by analysis and negotiation with suppliers
- Strong influencer and collaborator capable of driving key decisions and projects through.
- Ability to exercise independent professional judgement within an overall business context.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex technical information into clear simple messages and communicate to all levels and relevant parties within the organisation.

- Must hold or be able to gain CAA part 21, part M and part 145 authorisations.
- HNC/HND/degree level or equivalent in an approved Engineering subject.
- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
- Detailed technical knowledge of engines and the regulatory environment
