
Technical Manager - New Fleets

- Minimum of a Degree in any Engineering related discipline
- Experience of managing technical engineering within operational assets – ideally rolling stock
- Must have worked within rolling stock engineering – ideally 10+ years within EMU or passenger stock
- Understanding of systems engineering and rolling stock reliability for modern passenger units
- Must have experience within new fleet – we are happy for this to come from design/manufacture, fleet procurement or fleet introduction.
- Deep knowledge of Railway Group Standards (RGS), Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs), and other regulatory frameworks relevant to rolling stock.
- Ideally familiar with procurement processes in the UK rail industry, including competitive tendering, approvals processes and safety certification.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to assess complex technical requirements and communicate needs with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in whole-life cost analysis for rolling stock would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working at or closely with a ROSCO during a new fleet purchase would be highly advantageous.
