Islington Council are recruiting for an Assistant Director Corporate Facilities. This pivotal role will lead a £20M function, looking after both hard and soft services with a team of 130 officers. You will lead a customer focused service passionate about delivering a compliant and safe estate. It is an exciting to join one of the best councils in the country. The Council is passionate about making Islington a more equal place.Reporting to the Director of New Homes and Corporate Landlord, the Assistant Director - Corporate Facilities will be responsible for leading the innovation in the delivery and management of both hard and soft facilities management services, with a yearly revenue budget of £20 million and in excess of 130 team members. You will ensure all operational facilities are compliant, fit for purpose; and on track to be Net Zero Carbon.Have the freedom to lead and innovate to create the best customer experience |Work in one of London's most thriving and popular boroughs.You will have a substantial track record of leading large in house soft and hard services facilities functions in a large and complex organisation, as well as possessing excellent contract management skills. You will be an innovator, passionate about data and lead the digitalisation of the function. You will be a politically astute and commercially minded individual, with a track record of working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, such as unions to deliver a first class, agile service, focused on meeting the needs of the customer. The Council is in the position to offer top of the salary range for the right candidate.Working at Islington Council, you will have access to a generous annual leave allowance, starting at 31 days and increasing to 36 days leave per year after five years of local government service.Islington Council adopts a hybrid approach to working, in order to promote and sustain a good work-life balance. For this leadership post you would be expected to be in as and when required to complete your role. Three days a week in the office and two days home working is the adopted hybrid approach at the council.
