We are committed to increasing participation in outdoor sports and physical activities by creating inclusive, accessible, and innovative programs and facilities.We’re looking for a passionate and strategic Outdoor Recreation Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and growth of our outdoor sport initiatives. This role will focus on engaging diverse community groups, developing partnerships, and promoting active lifestyles through outdoor sport and recreation.This is a full time, permanent post working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday. You’ll have flexibility in hybrid working being both office based, at Aylestone Leisure Centre or working remotely from home to suit your needs. However, you will be expected to travel across the city for site visits and so on.What you’ll be doingWithin this innovative role not one day will be the same. Through building and maintaining strong relationships with community groups, you’ll identify and develop new opportunities for outdoor sport engagement across different demographics. Using your knowledge and own initiative you’ll design and implement fresh programs with the goal to increase participation in outdoor sports and physical activities, with safety, inclusion and sustainability at the forefront of your mind. This will also involve working closely with sports clubs, local authorities, and other stakeholders.In order to ensure the existing and new programs are successful there must be sufficient marketing, events, and outreach activities to raise necessary awareness and encourage involvement. Also, under your remit will be managing funding applications, budgets, and monitoring project outcomes.In addition, you’ll also lead and manage the service approach to the operation of Sport on Park bookings and Humberstone Heights Golf Course.What you’ll needAs the ideal candidate, you’ll have proven experience of managing outdoor sport or physical activity programs.
