Start Date: August 2025 or ASAPAbout the RoleWe're working with a specialist SEMH school in Leicestershire that is looking to appoint an Outdoor Learning Instructor to lead outdoor education and coordinate the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme. The school supports pupils aged 6-17 with social, emotional and mental health needs, offering a therapeutic and practical curriculum.This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about the outdoors and keen to help young people achieve their potential through outdoor learning and DofE expeditions.Your Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging outdoor activities and Forest School sessions
- Plan and lead the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme
- Supervise expeditions, encouraging resilience, teamwork and confidence
- Promote wellbeing and positive behaviour through structured outdoor learning
- Ensure activities are safe, well planned and inclusive for all pupils
- Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH and/or autism (essential)
- Experience in leading or supporting Duke of Edinburgh expeditions (essential)
- Outdoor learning or activity leadership qualifications (desirable)
- A full UK driving licence (essential for off-site activities)
- Teaching experience or QTS is desirable but not essential
- Join a supportive, values-led SEMH provision
- Training and CPD provided, including DofE and behaviour support
- A long-term to permanent position, providing consistency within one school
