- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and participate in departmental planning and meetings.
- Support students in developing strong literacy skills, critical thinking, and a love for literature.
- Participate in school events, parent evenings, and extracurricular activities as required.
- Uphold the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- A degree in English or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Experience teaching English Literature and Language at GCSE and/or A-Level.
- Familiarity with current educational research and best practices in English teaching.
- Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities such as drama, creative writing, or reading clubs.
