Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia (General) for a period of 12 months commencing 04 February 2026.The Senior Clinical Fellow post would suit applicants who have completed or nearly completed a recognised anaesthetic specialist training program, including someone who already possesses a CCT in Anaesthesia. The posts offer the opportunity to increase general anaesthetic experience prior to taking up a consultant post and also to develop or further an interest in a subspecialty of Anaesthesia, excluding Cardiothoracics.Main duties of the jobThe Senior Clinical Fellow will be effectively working at Junior Consultant level with Senior Consultant support and distant supervision available at all times. Senior Clinical Fellows participate in a non-resident on call rota.Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of commencement is required.Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.About usThe applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).   • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Anaesthesia
  • Experience of supervising trainees and of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates
  • Logbook indicating validated experience of appropriate range and number of clinical procedures

  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register, with a License to Practice; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years' experience in anaesthesia/intensive care
  • Attendance at a recognised management course
