- Develop and deliver teaching materials in lectures, tutorials, seminars and laboratory/workshop sessions.
- Identify where current provision is in need of revision or improvement and proactively address this.
- Contribute to the planning, design and development of the curriculum.
- Supervise student (UG and PG) individual and group projects.
- Be responsible for the pastoral care of students within a specified area.
- Contribute towards the organisation and marking of exams and coursework.
- A significant portion of the role will focus on co-ordinating academic teams in the creation and implementation of new postgraduate taught course.
- You will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a related discipline/be nearing the completion of a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
- You will work towards obtaining an appropriate teaching qualification.
- You will have a background in design and solid mechanics (preferred), though other areas relevant to mechanical engineering will also be considered.
- You will have experience teaching and administering undergraduate engineering or related discipline activities.
- You will demonstrate recent, proven competence in teaching or tutoring at undergraduate/postgraduate level and be capable of teaching effectively at both levels.
- You will be able to teach mechanics as applied in engineering systems, including the use of free body diagrams and mathematical modelling of systems involving motion and forces.
