Location: GlascoedAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Manufacturing Coordinator to join the Operations team of our defence client, BAE Systems, in Glascoed. This role is critical in ensuring production readiness, compliance with schedules, and the smooth running of manufacturing processes. You'll be at the centre of operations - collaborating with Process Leaders, Engineering, SHE, and Quality teams - helping to drive continuous improvement and maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency.This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a structured manufacturing environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in enabling production teams to deliver “right first time.”Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate training initiatives, ensuring employees are fully competent and records are kept accurate and up to date.Review and validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), suggesting improvements for compliance and efficiency.Plan ahead for process start-ups, pauses, and shutdowns using the manufacturing schedule.Contribute to Continuous Improvement projects through data collection, analysis, and implementation support.Support audit activity by preparing, conducting, and following up on internal and external audits.Attend daily operations meetings to ensure process readiness and effective communication across functions.Work with Process Leaders to identify training needs, deliver initial start-up training, and conduct competency assessments.Maintain visual management boards to keep teams updated on training and process document reviews.What We're Looking ForBackground in manufacturing, production, or operations support.Strong communication skills with the ability to train, coach, and influence at all levels.Knowledge of SOPs, compliance processes, and quality/audit frameworks.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems (advantageous).Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (SHE) requirements.Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and problem-solving.Preferred Qualifications / Experience:HNC in Engineering (or equivalent manufacturing experience).ILM/NVQ Level 3 or working towards it.IOSH Managing Safely or willingness to train.Exposure to explosive safety management (training can be provided).Why Join Us?Impact: Play a central role in ensuring operational readiness and production success.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.Development: Gain experience in audits, compliance, and continuous improvement projects.Culture: Be part of a team that values safety, integrity, and delivering high-quality results.PLEASE NOTE: This role requires eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
