- *M.Sc. Audiology or an M.Sc. in a related subject, or equivalent level of experience
- *B.Sc. in Audiology (or equivalent level).
- *Registered as a Clinical Scientist with the HCPC whilst adhering to the code of conduct for Clinical Scientists OR Registration as Clinical Physiologist, with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists or the Academy of Healthcare Science
- *Evidence of relevant accredited post-graduate training and education within profession.
- *Recognised qualification in management or leadership at master's level.
- *Recognised qualification in project management.
- *BSL qualification.
- *Significant experience as a clinical leader including direct clinical supervision and line management of staff.
- *Extensive experience of complex audiology rehabilitation
- *Extensive experience of severe to profound hearing loss.
- *Experience of leading staff and service development, e.g. PDR, performance management and job planning.
- *Experience of the IQIPS accreditation process and quality assurance activities
- *Experience of risk management, clinical governance and safeguarding processes Extensive knowledge of national issues and priorities within Audiology
- *Research experience within the field of audiology.
- *Significant demonstrable Senior management and leadership experience within an NHS organisation.
- *Knowledge of business and workforce planning
- *Experience in managing a small Audiology Department or section.
- *Experience of working with professional body in an Audiology capacity.
- *Well-developed leadership and influential skills, able to lead and command confidence in senior healthcare scientists, consultants, clinical colleagues, and managers within and related to the Audiology service.
- *Ability to deal with competing work pressures and specific deadlines.
- *Resilience and ability to stay positive and lead when under pressure and exposed to challenging situations.
- *Ability to cope with exposure to distressing and emotional circumstances within clinical and staff setting.
- *Ability to make complex judgements and decisions involving complex facts which require analysis and interpretation of data and information.
- *Good level of IT skills to include use of a broad range of relevant Audiological software and generic IT systems such as Office applications.
- *Ability to travel within region and nationally as required for the role.
- *Ability and willingness to work flexibly, adapting to requirements and priorities of the service and organisation.
- *Strong sense of professional integrity, and compliance with Trust vision and values.
- *Advanced counselling skills.
- *Advanced skills in IT systems and Crystal reports.
