Contract Type: Flexible supplyThe Education Network is seeking an experienced SEND Cover Supervisor to work within a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools across West Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and making a genuine difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor within a SEND setting, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, supervising classes in the absence of teaching staff, and supporting students with varying needs, including Autism, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure students remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering and managing classroom activities based on provided plans
- Supporting students with SEND, ensuring their safety, engagement and progress
- Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
- Providing feedback to teaching staff and contributing to student records
- Assisting with personal care and mobility where required (training provided if needed)
- Experience working within a SEND or mainstream school environment
- A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and a passion for inclusive education
- Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and adapting to different learning styles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible and proactive approach to working
- A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
