- Produce monthly balance sheet reviews for review with FD ensuring any discrepancies are fully investigated and rectified.
- Ensure monthly journals are being processed in a timely and accurate manner and that robust reconciliations are in place, and are maintained.
- Ensure there is a clear audit trail between Group reporting and other internal and statutory reporting.
- Review and ensure that the VAT returns are subject to robust review ahead of submission and raise queries.
- Maintenance of PO and invoice approval matrix, working with IT to introduce a more productive PO process.
- Ownership of day-to-day audit process ensuring audit is taken to completion efficiently and audit fees are minimised.
- Collaborate with FD to develop a reliable, data driven, cash forecasting model, ensuring forecast is kept up to date with actuals and evolving cashflow expectations.
- Work with the FD to develop and embed a finance lead business partnering culture within the business.
- Team Management - ensuring effective distribution of workload, always seeking out efficiency opportunities and systems and process improvements.
- Formally qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Previous people/ team management exerience is required
- Strong management accounting and business partnering experience, with expertise in financial controls, management reporting and cost analysis
- A commercial mindset, able and willing to offer insight on both opportunities and potential risks.
- The ability to clearly communicate technically complex financial issues.
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organisation skills and a flexible approach to dealing with deadlines.
- Strong analytic skills and high levels of attention to detail.
