At whatever stage you join us, we provide abundant means to develop your career within a growing network of schools united by a compelling vision for creative education.PLEASE NOTE: This is a term-time only role.Overview:You will be responsible for proving excellent IT support and customer service, to both internal and external users. You will work with the Regional IT Manager and Senior IT Technician to support the IT systems, applications and associated software at the school.Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality technical support and advice to the school.
  • Prepare devices for use including desktops, laptops, chrome books and iPads.
  • Help maintain and support the IT hardware estate, including educational technology (i.e. classroom desktops, laptops and AV), as well as non-educational technology (i.e. CCTV, VOIP phones, access control).
  • Document fixes/workarounds to common problems so that this knowledge can be shared across the wider IT support network.
  • To play an active role in incident investigation, including retrieval and secure sharing of footage from the CCTV system.
  • Under the direction of the Senior IT Technician testing and installation new software.
  • To ensure new starters have proximity ID Badges issued and enrolled on systems (i.e. access control). Undertake IT induction with new starters, covering the acceptable usage policy, mandatory training and basic use of key equipment.

  • Excellent customer service skills, and proven ability to achieve high standards of end user satisfaction.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure during troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a team member, but also having self-motivation when working independently.
  • Ability to convey technical problems to non-technical staff.
  • Strong personal drive and willingness to get things done.
  • Good time management.
  • Openness to learning, change and personal development.
Entry requirements:
  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme.
