Independent Practice | £30,000–£32,000 | Full or Part TimeZest Optical are working alongside a well-established independent Opticians in Cardiff to recruit a Dispensing Optician to join their friendly team.This long-standing, family-run practice has been serving the local community for over 40 years and is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of professional eye care, first-class service, and the finest eyewear. You’ll work with an extensive range of frames and lenses from luxury brands including Chanel, Cartier, Versace, and Moscot, as well as unique independent designers.Dispensing Optician – Role
- Provide expert advice and dispense to all levels, including complex prescriptions
- Be the main dispenser on some days, supporting patients with more advanced needs
- Assist with frame buying, meeting suppliers, and selecting new collections
- Handle reception and administrative duties when required
- Meet and greet patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience
- Oversee stock handling, transactions, and ordering
- Maintain the practice’s immaculate presentation and high-end image
- GOC-registered Dispensing Optician (essential)
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer care
- Confident communicator with strong sales and styling skills
- Well-organised, proactive, and happy to take ownership on busy days
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a close-knit team
- Basic salary up to £32,000 (DOE)
- Full or part-time hours available
- 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
