We are currently are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic nurse to join our Outstanding Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). The Trust was rated outstanding by CQC in 2020 and are proud of the standards we maintain across our services.The unit operates Monday - Sunday from 0800- 2000, with nurses working either 0800-1800 or 1000-2000. The unit sees patients who might otherwise be admitted to inpatient hospital beds. Patients will arrive via GP referrals, direct referrals from the Emergency Department or be referred as existing inpatients, who may complete their treatment as ambulatory patients. It provides staff with a great opportunity to learn and develop their clinical, nursing and leadership skills.The unit is a friendly environment with opportunities to learn from varying specialties. You will be placed on a supportive and structured education and training pathway, centred on reflective supervision, clinical skills, research and leadership.We can offer you:- Dedicated Buddy on your unit with a supportive supernumerary period.- Education and development to enhance your clinical skills.Main duties of the jobYou will be a first level nurse who is motivated and willing to learn in this fast moving clinical area, post registration experience is essential. Accident & Emergency or Acute experience is desirable.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge and be able to translate this into effective nursing care. You will also be expected to run the shift and have an in depth understanding of the Emergency Care Pathway and be able to manage emergency presentations.You will need to be an effective communicator able to work within the multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
