What the job involves
Working directly with the CIO, the new team member will play a central role in identifying, researching, and evaluating investment opportunities, with a particular focus on balance sheet-intensive financial services companies
Conducting in-depth fundamental research and financial analysis on potential investments
Building and maintaining detailed financial models to evaluate companies in the financial sector
Performing rigorous due diligence using both top-down and bottom-up approaches
Monitoring market trends, macroeconomic developments, and regulatory changes affecting the banking and insurance sectors
Presenting investment ideas directly to the Portfolio Manager
Attending industry conferences and management meetings to develop proprietary insights
Tracking and evaluating the performance of existing investments and providing recommendations
Who we are looking for
At least several years in investment banking, private equity, or consulting, including a couple of years of buyside experience, with a focus on financial institutions and services at some point in their career
Strong quantitative skills and experience building complex financial models
Self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Sharp analytical skills with ability to identify patterns and mispricings
Commitment to learning and following a disciplined investment process
Detail-oriented and intellectually curious, with excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate investment theses
