The role includes responsibility for maintaining all IT Governance frameworks to enable IT to manage their risks effectively and ensure that the activities associated with information and technology are aligned with the overall business objectives. Ensure Leica meet relevant legal and regulatory obligations, such as those set out in the GDPR. Working in close collaboration with the Legal, Audit, Finance, Quality and Regulatory teams within the three Opcos and at a Platform and Danaher level. This position will be accountable for the lead on IT Quality and Governance and ensuring internal activities match the required business needs.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Lead the implementation and maintenance of ISO standards , initial focus being on the implementation of ISO27001 standards within the organization.
Oversee IT management activities to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Responsible for managing all IT Governance within Leica Microsystems, Leica Biosystems and Mammotome. This includes Document and Training management throughout IT for all IT Associates and contingent workers. Ensuring best practice IT Governance principles are used, mentoring associates throughout to ensure Governance is embedded within the build and becomes part of the daily organizational competencies.Maintain and enhance existing strategies to automate and streamline the way Governance Metrics are monitored and audited.
Support IT in all site ISO Regulatory audits where IT is required and ensure compliance to the Quality Management System where appropriate and IT security policies.Supports Global IT Director Governance and Compliance in responding to Enterprise Risk Management, managing KPIs with accurate progress assessments of related items.Works closely with peer organizations, including IT Compliance, IT Validation, Infrastructure, Security, Applications, PMO and ERP , QA/RA to align on approach and flawlessly execute systems objectives in support of the business.
Predominately work remotely but can travel for projects, a series of annual meetings, critical situations, trainings, etc.The essential requirements of the job include
- Proven experience in implementing ISO 27001 standards across IT departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, with prior experience as an IT Professional, preferably in the Healthcare, Diagnostics, or Life Sciences sectors.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a deep understanding of relevant concepts and a passion for developing others.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively within a global, matrixed organization, engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent project and conflict management skills, including proficiency in project management tools (e.g., action plans), and a goal-oriented, data-driven approach to IT Quality and Governance
- Leadership experience
- Familiarity with the DBS toolkit or comparable methodologies.
