We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.The shift pattern is Monday-Friday (30 hours).(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.This is an exciting position offering variable clinical exposure and a wide range of skills and opportunities within Movement Disorder Service. The movement disorder service supports patients living with lifelong conditions across the whole of ScotlandAs part of a clinical team the post holder will be responsible for working in and multidisciplinary manner to provide safe and effective care for people with movement disorders. The post holder will have an active case load acting as an autonomous practitioner. Working under the supervision of the Band 7 CNS, the successful applicant can anticipate a full and active role in chronic disease management by delivering patient care post diagnosis. This care will encompass education, symptom assessment and monitoring of disease modifying therapy in patients with movement disorders.The post holder will be an active participant in multidisciplinary care planning and will work closely with Consultant Neurologists, Neurosurgeons and Allied Health Professionals amongst others to ensure high quality care provision.The successful applicant must have the knowledge and skill set to work independently and possess excellent communication skills to manage the telephone advice line, maintain an active case load under the supervision of a consultant, and interface with hospital clinicians and general practitioners and to deliver high quality person centred care.It is essential that you are a Registered Adult Nurse with NMC pin with significant post registration experience or can evidence transferable skills suitable to this role. Previous nurse specialist and/or prescriber experience or qualification would be advantageous but is not essential. IT skills are essential.Relevant experience working within the Neurology or Neurosurgical Service is advantageous although not essential.
