A government body is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to provide financial support to Wrexham’s Schools ensuring financial returns and monitoring are completed within the required deadlines, working with Head Teachers, Schools Support Staff & the Education Management Team.Based in the Wrexham area, with willingness to participate in an out of hours on-call rota. This is a contract role for initially 24 weeks from approximately 8th September and paying £22.07 per hour, less deductions for insurance, taxes and umbrella company charges (PAYE £17.29 per hour). The closing date is Friday 5th September.Duties will include:Provide financial advice (including technical advice), support and assistance to relevant service and team managersProvide costings and financial information to support budget planning, service development plans and resource managementSupport the revenue budget monitoring process for the service(s), supporting effective budgetary controlProvide financial reports at various management levels.Able to be flexible in working times to accommodate peaks, attend evening meetings and provide cover for the sectionDeputising for the Finance Manager at meetings and where applicable managing the team when they are away from the officeTo assist with the completion of monthly VAT duties, to include the VAT return and monitoring of the Council's Partial Exemption positionUndertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the postTo be suitable for this role you must have proven experience in a similar Senior Finance role, ideally within a similar government organisation.Salary:£22 per hourType:ContractLocation:North WalesSector:Accountancy Ref:24515Contact Name:Jon Heard
