- Have the ability and interest to undertake an NVQ level III in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care / Mobility and Movement or equivalent training through short courses / in-service training
- Evidence at recent relevant courses/ training
- NVQ Level 3 health and social care
- GCSE Maths and English
- NVQ level 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Previous relevant experience within NHS
- Evidence of experience in moving and handling adults/ older people
- Experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
- Demonstrates knowledge of patient care
- Previous employment as Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Previous experience of working with adults following stroke
- Experience in informal teaching/demonstrating job role to other staff
- Awareness of the need for patient dignity and privacy
- Understand the legal responsibilities of the profession
- Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes
- Able to form patient relationship in order to achieve common goals
- Show an awareness of patient rights
- Evidence of recent learning
