Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rochdale starting in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to provide targeted support for students with speech, language, and communication difficulties, working within a dynamic school environment.Key Responsibilities:
Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication needs in individual students or groups.Provide direct therapy and intervention to students with communication difficulties.Develop and implement tailored Speech and Language therapy plans (IEPs) for students.Support teachers and staff in understanding and managing students’ speech and language needs within the classroom setting.Advise and train staff on strategies to promote speech and language development across the school.Monitor and track progress of students and adjust therapy plans accordingly.Work closely with the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other external agencies to support students with complex needs.Provide parents/carers with guidance and advice on how to support their childs speech and language development at home.Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress for each student.Ensure adherence to safeguarding and behaviour policies within the school.Requirements:
A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy (e.g., Degree in Speech and Language Therapy).HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council).Experience working with children, particularly in a primary school setting (desirable).Knowledge of a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and work effectively with children, staff, and parents.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).What We Offer:
