An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join The Academy Recruitment team at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Head of North England Academy Recruitment. This is an excellent role for someone who is a strategic planner, organised, confident and able to work individually and as part of a successful team.The role is based around the North of England, with the successful candidate needed to visit Avant Training Centre when required.The role of Head of North England Academy Recruitment is fundamental to the long-term vision of Norwich City Football Club in identifying and recruiting the most talented young players for the Club. The Head of North England Academy Recruitment will assist in the implementation of identification, recruitment and scouting strategies for the Academy across the Player Performance Pathway of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) in conjunction with the Academy Head of Recruitment, whilst striving to identify and recruit the most talented young players available in adherence with the Profile of player the Club is seeking to recruit. The role will oversee academy scouting U14-U18 in both North England and Scotland.Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Identification and recruitment of players across the Player Performance Pathway in adherence with Academy profiles
  • Assist in implementing strategy for internal and external scouting in North England and Scotland.
  • Develop and manage a network of scouts and contacts to work in support of internal and external strategies
  • Manage trialist Identification games
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of the Talent Identification database
  • Implement Scouting Policy and Protocol for scouts attending games
  • Develop relationships with both North England and Scotland Academies and non-Academy football teams
  • Develop relationships with schools and Colleges across North England.
  • To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Academy and non-Academy players
  • Administration as required
  • Undertake travel across the U.K
  • Personally scouting 7 games live or by video each week
  • Lead on trialist process for players from your region alongside academy recruitment administrator
  • To act in a manner that supports the Club's Values of Growth, Integrity, Belonging, Resilience, Pride and Commitment
All applicants should have or be working towards the following qualifications:
  • F.A Talent Identification Course Level 3
  • UEFA B License
  • Safeguarding and First Aid
Required licence or certification:
  • Full driving license
