Head of Facilities / Director Designate
Location: Multi-site (Reading, Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Poole, Ferndown, Camberley, Fareham, Farnborough)
Salary: Circa £75,000 (DOE) + £5,000-£6,000 car allowance

Dovetail Recruitment is partnering with a well-established provider of modern, flexible office spaces to recruit a proactive and experienced Head of Facilities / Director Designate. This senior role offers a unique opportunity to lead the operational management of a portfolio of 12 commercial office buildings across the South of England.Reporting directly to the Executive Chairman, you will oversee building maintenance, compliance, and contractor management, ensuring high standards of service for all tenants. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring regular travel between sites, from Reading to Bournemouth and surrounding areas.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day operations and maintenance of 12 office buildings
  • Manage service providers including cleaning, security, maintenance, and IT contractors
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and building regulations
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
  • Work closely with outsourced IT providers to maintain technology infrastructure
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to uphold standards
  • Manage budgets and report facility performance to senior leadership
  • Respond to tenant requests promptly and professionally
  • Support office fit-outs, refurbishments, and relocations
Your Experience and Skills
  • Proven multi-site facilities management experience in commercial office environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing outsourced IT services preferred
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and work autonomously
  • Full UK driving licence essential
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' facilities management experience
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or relevant FM qualification desirable
  • BIFM or IWFM certification is a plus
