  • Proven experience of working with young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
  • An understanding of the secondary school curriculum and the challenges faced by students aged 11-16.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service, or a willingness to apply for one.
  • The Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher in the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom materials, resources, and displays.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and attendance.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom times, including breaks and lunch.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a consistent support system for students.
  • Implement specific learning and behaviour interventions as directed by the teacher and SENCO.
  • Promote the well-being and safety of all students, adhering to school policies and procedures.
